Abstract
847,070. Concrete mixers. PINGON, P. J. May 19, 1959, No. 17016/59. Class 86 A transportated concrete mixer has a device 3 rotatable about its horizontal axis and mounted on a single pair of wheels as at 4. There is a charging and discharging hopper 1 which runs upon rails 2. The engine 13 and gearbox 14 are mounted at the side of the mixer between th whel 4, and the drum and rails 3, 2. The gearbox has reversing clutches (see Fig. 5, not shown) which enable the drum to be driven in either direction for mixing and discharging, and incorporates also a clutch and brake arrangement for a winding drum for the cable 11 by means of which the hopper 1 is raised and lowered. A handle 55 enables water to be supplied to the mixer from the tank 51, which has an adjustable float and valve device for varying the level of water in the tank 51 and consequently delivered (see Figs. 6 and 7, not shown).
