[Class 86] A vehicle-mounted concrete mixer has a rotary mixing drum having a charging opening facing the front of the vehicle, a hopper for feeding ingredients into the opening, and a loading skip for supplying the hopper, said skip being movably mounted on parallel tracks which extend downwardly from the hopper towards the front of the vehicle, the outer ends of said tracks being hingedly mounted so as to lie substantially flat on the ground when in use or to be folded upwardly for transportation. The rotary mixing drum 15, Fig. 1, is charged through a hopper 18 supplied with ingredients by a skip 35, Fig. 2, riding on inclined rails 36, the outer ends 38 of which are hingedly attached. The skip 35 is raised by a cable 40 and is tilted by the engagement of rollers 46 thereon with rails 45 and by the engagement of rollers 47 with notches 48 in the rails 36. A hinged gate at the delivery end of the skip 35 is opened when a catch-releasing arm 53 engages the wall of the charging hopper 18. The drum 15 discharges into a bucket 67 which is elevated within a tower 16 by a cable 74, to deliver the batch to a shoot 76 mounted at an adjustable distance from the ground. The tower 16 is hinged to the rear framework of the vehicle and is adapted to travel in a horizontal position. The cables 40, 74 are wound on drums rotated by gearing coupled to the driving shaft of the prime mover of the vehicle. The latter also drives the rotating means for the mixer drum, and a pump which may supply water to the charging hopper from a storage tank adjacent thereto.
