Abstract

1,157,625. Comminuting apparatus; mixing apparatus. J. CLARKE. 22 July, 1966 [22 July, 1965], No. 31184/65. Headings B1C and B2A. Apparatus for comminuting pig swill, waste or sewage comprises a rotor 13, Fig. 2, having blades 13a driven by a motor 61, Fig. 1, to rotate in a cage 17 formed of concentric replaceable steel rings 17a Fig. 3, spaced by divisor plates 17b to form compartments 17c. The material to be ground is fed from a tank (not shown), via a tube 10 and additives, e.g. water or other solvents may be added via an inlet 21. An inspection aperture 22 is provided for use during cleaning. Comminuted material flows out via an outlet tube 19.
