847,046. Balancing driving pulleys. SVENSKA TURBIN AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNGSTROM. July 2, 1958, No. 21182/58. Class 80 (1). After experimentally determining the degree of static out-of-balance of a V-pulley 1, e.g. by mounting it on knife edges and applying magnetic weights, the required amount of material is removed asymmetrically therefrom in order to effect balancing, by forming an eccentric channel 3 in the bottom of one or more of the belt grooves, the required eccentricity being calculated by formula. Eccentric channels of unlike dimensions may be formed at opposite ends of the pulley to facilitate dynamic balancing.
