Abstract

846,117. Cutting vegetation. WILDER Ltd., J. Jan. 20, 1958 [Oct. 23, 1956], No. 32206/56. Class 6(3). Relates to a vegetation-cutter or cutterloader of the type having a transverse horizontal rotor fitted with radial blades. According to the invention, each blade has a horizontal cutting tip 6 and a front face 5 which curves rearwardly and inwardly towards the mounting end of the blade. The blades are mounted on arms 1 freely pivoted to shafts 9 mounted parallel to the axis of a rotor 10. Each arm is shaped at 1a to form a support for the blade 3 which is U-shaped in cross-section. The blades are used in the machine described in Specification 846,118. Specification 816,421 also is referred to.
