A milling-cutter 10 has internal threads 16 for engagement with the socket described in Specification 844,212, and is bored to receive the adaptor-plug, a tapered portion 7 of which is engageable with an obtuse taper in the bore of the cutter to facilitate centring. The cutter may have an integral ring 11 and spanner flats 15.
