Abstract

927,223. Arbors. FRANK GUYLEE & SON Ltd. April 7, 1960 [April 9, 1959], No. 12083/59. Class 83 (3). A milling cutter arbor comprises a body 10 having a frusto-conical bore portion 13 and screwed-bore portions 12, 24, an interchangeable insert 16 located in the bore 13 by a tapered shank 15, a ring 19 on the parallel portion of the insert having dogs 20, 22 for driving engagement with recesses in the body and a cutter 18 respectively. The cutter, driving ring and insert are clamped in the body by a drawbar 25 screwed into the screwed bore 24. The insert may be interchanged with inserts having parallel portions of greater or lesser diameter than the insert 16 when using different cutters, and the screwed bore 24 may be replaced by an internally screwed bush secured in the body by a grub-screw.
