Abstract

843,316. Waveguide-windows. MICROWAVE ASSOCIATES Inc. May 7, 1958 [May 7, 1957] No. 14610/58. Class 40(8). [Also in Group XL(a)] A waveguide sealing window device comprises a waveguide portion consisting of two sections 31.1 and 31.2 containing at their juncture a seal comprising an iris member 36 having an opening of any desired configuration and separated by a space 37 from a sealing member 35 in the form of a conventional window consisting of a glas portion 35.1 and a metal portion 35.2 which i sealed to the waveguide 31.1 by means o soldering, brazing or welding metal 38 which may be extended as shown between the iri member 36 and the waveguide 31.2. The join may be covered by a metal strap 32. The inven tion may be applied to a T.R. tube (see Grout XL(a) ) having an envelope formed by a portion of waveguide.
