Abstract

A metallic member in a glass to metal seal (see Division C7) is composed of an alloy consisting of 47% Ni, 48% Fe and 5% Cr.ALSO:<PICT:1017766/C1/1> The glass to metal seal of the parent Specification is modified by extending the outer member 7 beyond one end of the inner member 1 with the glass 3, 5 forming the seal between the inner and outer members extending over the end of the inner member 1. The inner member 1 may be composed of an alloy consisting of 47% Ni, 48% Fe and 5% Cr or an alloy consisting of 28% Cr and 72% Fe.
