Abstract

842,964. Intake silencers; treating charge. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. (Ford Motor Co.). Oct. 7, 1958, No. 31988/58. Class 7(2). [Also in Group XXVIII] In a charge air filter having a silencing baffle 27 between the filter element 11 and its cover 34, a well 26 collecting dirt shaken out of the element 11 and having discharge holes 32 is provided. The element 11 is of pleated paper faced with wire mesh 14, 15 and having "plastic" end rings 12, 13. There is a flame shield 37, and a gasket 28 for sealing against a carburetter on which the filter is mounted.
