Abstract
839,591. Automatic voltage control systems. BOSCH G.m.b.H., R. Jan. 23, 1958 [Jan. 24, 1957: Aug. 24, 1957], No. 2267/58. Class 38 (4). A field current regulator of the vibratory type for the voltage regulation and current limitation of shunt wound generators comprises a parallel combination of a resistive impedance and a non- linear resistor 12, 23 connected between the generator armature and the load. The shunt field 16 is in series with a resistor 18 which is shunted by vibratory contacts 12a, 12b controlled by a potential coil 10, and additionally by the energization of a current coil 24 when the threshold voltage of the non-linear resistor 23 connected in series is exceeded. This voltage is produced by the load current flowing through impedance 13 which may form the current coil of a cut-out 13-15, 21, which cut-out may be replaced by a rectifier. A number of other arrangements are described employing only one coil 10, temperaturedependent resistors in place of resistor 13, and transistors to control the field current. The threshold voltage of the non-linear resistor is given as 0.2 volt.
