Abstract

832,851. Automatic voltage control systems. BOSCH G.m.b.H., R. Oct. 22, 1957 [Nov. 3, 1956], No. 32879/57. Class 38 (4). In a voltage regulating arrangement for a generator A having a shunt field F, a transistor T1 connected in series with the field is arranged, by being connected to form with a second transistor T2 a relaxation oscillator, to interrupt the field periodically in accordance with the output voltage which is thus maintained constant. The transistor T2 is controlled by the output from a bridge comprising resistors R7- R11 at least one of which is non-linear, R11 being a low series resistance in the load path whereby current compensation is applied to the bridge. R 11 may comprise a forwardly directed rectifier which may serve also to prevent reversal of current. Resistors R8 and R9 may both be non-linear and comprise cells of cadmium and cadmium oxide, and nickel with an oxygen permeable separator.
