Abstract

837,846. Filing papers. BENSONS TOOL WORKS Ltd. Nov. 4, 1957, [May 2, 1957], No. 13988/57. Class 146(1) A loose leaf binder of the kind having ring plates 5 mounted on pivoted flaps 2 on the cover 3 of the binder, the flaps being adapted to swing on a crease joint 6, in which fasteners 7 captively attached to the cover 3, to be slidable in relation thereto, have socket and tongue engagement with adjacent ends 11 of the ring plates 5 to form a rigid support connecting the ends of the ring plates to lock them in the closed position. As shown, the fastener 7 comprises a flat plate 8 slidably mounted on a headed pin 13 on the cover 3, and a head 9 having sockets 10 for engaging the ends 11. In a modified form, Fig. 7, the fastener 7 is mounted between two layers 14 of the cover B, a stem 15 connecting the plate 8 to the head 9 passing through a slot 16 in the upper layer 14. Specification 803,918 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
