Post and like files.-In temporary binders, loose - leaf books &c., filing - rings a for the papers are provided with a flat base b rigidly attached to the back of the ring and forming two ears for securing the ring to the binder &c. by rivets or clenching pieces. The ring may otherwise be formed from a flat piece of metal provided with four projections d, Fig. 6, which overlap to produce two ears when the ring is formed. A transverse slot h may be formed in the ring to receive papers having closed filing- holes.
