Abstract

472,025. Loose-leaf binders. HANDLER, K., HANDLER, F., and HANDLER, K., (trading as HANDLER METALLWARENFABRIK, K.) Feb. 23, 1937, No. 5423. Convention date, Feb. 29, 1936. [Class 146 (i)] In a loose-leaf binder of the kind wherein filing rings 3 are mounted on abutting toggle strips 2 mounted in a curved resilient backplate 1, operating levers 7, 8 are provided at each end of the back and are arranged so that depression of the lever 7 causes the rings to be opened and depression of the lever 8 causes the rings to be closed. Each lever has tongues 6 engaging guide slots 5 in the strips 2, and bears against bent-up spring-tongues 11 on the plate 1 controlling the movement of the levers. In addition, the opening lever 7 has a projection 10 engaging the upper surfaces of the strips 2 and the closing lever 8 has a similar projection 9 engaging the lower surfaces of the strips.
