Abstract
837,740. Sintering machines. SCHENCK MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H., C. Oct. 22, 1958 [Nov. 7, 1957], No. 33843/58. Class 82(1) In an ore sintering plant, the rate of feed of material to the sintering band is adjusted to the rate of discharge of sintered material from the band so as to maintain the depth of bed constant. As shown, the material to be sintered is withdrawn from storage bins A 1-4 , via belt-type proportioning balances, and fed by a conveyer B 1 to a mixer D 1 and thence to the sintering band S. Lime and covering material withdrawn from bins K and C 1 , C 2 respectively via belt-type proportioning balances, are fed by conveyers B 2 , B 3 to the band, the covering material passing through a mixer D 2 . The electric motors driving the proportioning balances and the sintering band are fed from a common voltage-stabilized source through a network, Fig. 2 (not shown) ensuring speed maintenance of the motors with change of load. Thus as the voltage of the source is varied to alter the speed of the band, the rate of feed of the materials is correspondingly adjusted.
