Class 20(2) Conduits for water, electric wiring &c. intended to be embedded in a wall are initially mounted in the desired position on a support outside the wall which is subsequently removed. In Figs. 1 and 2 to an extensible strut S wedged between ceiling and floor is clamped by clamps 3 a square tube 5 in a slot 6 in which is vertically adjustable a guide 8 carrying a horizontally adjustable nail 10 which carries by means of screws screwed into their ends pipes R adapted to be embedded in a wall. The clamps 3 may also be used to clamp further tubes 5 at right angles to form for instance a square frame supporting various tubes and the vertical tubes may be adjusted along the horizontal tubes. Various arrangements are described including supports clamped at right-angles or hinged to form a support for pipes to be embedded in walls at an angle. In Fig. 24, the pipes 226, 227 are mounted by plates 294 on cross-members 291 of a frame 284 of angle bars clamped to columns 281. The bars 291 are adjustable along the frame by means of slotted cross members 202 and also a plurality of bolt holes. This frame may be supported by bolts 135, Fig. 15, in the vertical frame members 112 and adapted to be embedded in walls 138 already constructed. The frame cross members 114 support overhanging members 121 carrying the pipes and adapted to be finally embedded in the wall. Elbows on the ends of the pipes are left protruding from the wall for the connection of taps &c. A single pipe may be supported by direct connection to a supporting column.
