Abstract

1399115 Foundations for beams of buildings USS ENGS & CONSULTANTS INC 7 June 1972 [18 June 1971] 26609/72 Heading E1A A C-beam 10 is adjustably supported on a foundation 32 by a saddle 20, a vertical support 30, adjustable means 36 and a V-support 44; the V-support being secured to each of the members 10, 20, 30 as shown and the means 36 being mounted on an anchor plate 40. The V-support 44 is welded to the members 20, 30 and secured by clamps 56 to the beam 10. The plate 40 is provided with elongated slots whereby it may be adjustably bolted to the footings 32. Vertical adjustment of the rod 30 may be effected by co-operating wedges, a rack and pinion device, a fluid operated jack, a worm or other means for details of which to-gether with modified details of V- support the Specification and remaining drawings (not shown) should be referred to.
