Abstract

1,150,756. Bulk storage tanks. CHICAGO BRIDGE & IRON CO. 27 Oct., 1966 [27 Dec., 1965], No. 48306/66. Heading E1T. In a tank having a conical roof structure supported by girdles 16 mounted on columns 15 the girders are adjustably supported on an extension 20, 21 of the column by bolts 25 as shown in order to accommodate settlement and other distortions. Each girder is provided with semi-circular guide means 30 and the adjustment mechanism is protected by a removable cover 33.
