Abstract

1314261 Carrying liquefied gas WHESSOE Ltd 19 April 1971 [20 April 1970] 18685/70 Heading B7A [Also in Division F4] A ship comprises a cylindrical tank 1 supported in a hull 2 by means of support members 3 on the tank and associated support elements 4 on the hull. Support surfaces 3a, 4a co-operate through rollers 5 to provide relative movement along a line passing through the geometric centre of the tank. Such supports are provided along the length of the tank, being positioned symmetrically on either side of a vertical plane through the tank axis. These support members and elements secure the tank against gravity at least through the maximum angle of roll and/or pitch of the ship.
