Abstract

1,257,358. Marine platform support structure. TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP. 8 May, 1969 [17 May, 1968], No. 23516/69. Heading E1H. An elongated marine platform support structure 12 intended to stand substantially vertically is transported horizontally to its intended site by barge 10 which supports the structure at two bearing cradles 53 and by barge 11 which supports the other end of the structure. The support provided by barge 10 permits pivotal movement between the structure and barge 10 thereby avoiding undue strain on the structure because of undulation of the water. In the embodiment shown barge 11 supports knuckle 31 of the structure 12 in a recessed seat to permit restrained pivotal movement at that end also.
