889,245. Buoys. GARLAND, N. Feb. 27, 1959, No. 6919/59. Class 68(1). A mooring buoy has a centrally disposed hawse pipe for the separate and independent loadcarrying mooring system associated with the buoy, and said hawse pipe consists of an upper mooring arm guide slot or slots 44 and a lower pendant mooring housing 62 joined together by a bearing housing 60 which extends to the top of the working platform 41 of the buoy and which is adapted to contain and form a pivotal support for an enlarged boss 54 on the bottom end of a mooring arm 51 of the mooring system. Each of the guide slots has an inclined floor 49 which is oblique to axis of the buoy and the slot restricts movement of the arm to a predetermined vertical plane.
