Abstract

803,827. Tanks. WIGGINS, J. H. Jan. 30, 1956, No. 2928/56. Class 69 (1). A floating rod for a liquid-containing tank 1 comprises (as shown in Fig. 1) concentric centre and peripheral pontoons B and A, an annular flexible deck C, an annular load member D and one or more conduits 25 for carrying away rain collecting on the roof, the arrangement being such that the deck C comprises two parts C1 and C2 of substantially equal and opposite pitch with a gutter E midway between pontoons A and B. In a modification (Fig. 5), C1 and C2 instead of being parts of a one-piece deck C are formed separately and welded to a channelmember 19 forming the gutter; in this case the load member D consists of a concrete-filled channel member 20 supported on member 19 by posts 23.
