796,529. Tanks. WIGGINS, J. H. May 30, 1956 [June 6, 1955], No. 16713/56. Class 69 (1). A circular floating roof for liquid storage tanks comprises a bottom deck 14 for floating engagement with the liquid, a cylindrical structure 16 providing an outer rim, a cylindrical centre support 18 of greater height than structure 16, an intermediate structure 19 of less height than support 18 and structure 16 and having an upper edge of sawtooth configuration, and a top deck 36 conforming with the upper edges of members 16, 18 and 19 so that it consists of a number of surfaces sector-shaped in outline and funnel-shaped in contour, each with its lowest point adjacent a low point of the upper edge of structure 19 from which point a drain 39 runs. The top deck may be built up from rectangular plates laid with lapped seams. Support 18 provides a central drainage reservoir discharged by a conduit 41.
