In a supporting device (Figs. 1 and 3) for use in panel ceiling structures wherein panels 32 are carried by girders 9, a fixing bolt 2 therefor is secured to the permanent overhead structure 1 of a building on which a bracket member 4 is mounted, having a horizontal surface extending laterally thereof to support a girder 9 in a position laterally offset to the bolt 2, and retained by a bolt 10 in slots 5, the member 4 being rotatable about the bolts longitudinal axis to be adjustable axially thereof so that, in use, it may be horizontally and vertically adjusted relative to the bolt 2. The panels 32 are carried by parallel rails 17 supported by transverse girders 9 supported between their ends as above. The rails 17 are supported by angle-shaped clips 18 supported from the girders 9, and are connected to the clips 18 by screws 25, 26 (to allow for vertical adjustment), each engaging a bolt 24 with C-shaped holder 27 at the lower end, to receive the head portion of a rail 17, and itself received in a slotted portion 22 of a clip 18. The bolt 10 is at a variable distance from the axis of the bolt 2. In the form shown in Fig. 6 the member 4 has an extension beyond the axis of the bolt 2 carrying vertically adjustable means 40 to abut the structure 1 and comprises a hub 36 mounted on the bolt 2 with extending arms 37 to support a girder 9. The arms 37 have registering slots to receive bolts 10<SP>1</SP> for locating the girder 9. The ends of the rails 17 are supported, by projecting rods, on bracketshaped rails attached to the walls, and the girders 9 are so attached by a bent plate having bolt-and-slot connection to a girder.
