[Also in Group XII] In a gas turbine plant in which producer gas from a solid fuel gas producer is burnt in the combustion chamber the gas producer is supplied with a gasefying medium obtained by combustion of part of the producer gas with compressed air in an auxiliary combustion chamber and the gas producer is operated at a relatively low temperature (about 100‹ C.). Air compressed in a compressor K is heated in a heat exchanger V1 and then passed to a combustion chamber SK. The combustion gases from this chamber are supplied to a turbine T driving the compressor K and alternator A and then exhausted to atmosphere through the surface heat exchangers V1, V2. A gas producer G is supplied with gasefication medium from an auxiliary combustion chamber PSK. Air from the compressor K is further compressed in a compressor TD driven by a turbine supplied with gas bled from the turbine T and then passed to the chamber PSK. Producer gas from the gas producer G is cleaned in a device C through which phenol water is circulated by a pump C1. The cleaned producer gas is then passed to a water separator S1 and part of the saturated gas is passed to the auxiliary combustion chamber PSK. The remainder is heated in the heat exchangers V2, V3 before passing to the combustion chamber SK. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the air supplied to the auxiliary combustion chamber PSK is saturated with water vapour heated in a heat exchanger by the exhaust gases of the turbine T and in intercoolers forming part of the compressor K.
