Abstract

836,507. Stopping delivery; yarn guides. PRINCE-SMITH & STELLS Ltd. Aug. 6, 1958 [Sept. 2, 1957], No. 23558/58. Divided out of 836,470. Class 120(2) A textile twisting machine in which the yarns to be twisted together are wrapped twice round a delivery roller 11 has a tumbler 17 with a yarn guide to accommodate each wrap of yarn the tumbler 17 being balanced by correctly wrapped yarns and connected to a stepping member 15 so that incorrect wrapping unbalances the tumbler 17 which actuates the member 15 to stop rotation of the roller. The yarn passes round grooved rollers 12, 13 mounted on an arbor 14 which is carried by the member 15. The tumbler 17 is pivoted on a spindle 16 fixed to the arbor 14 and is held in position by the wraps E, F of yarn. If the yarn is. only wrapped once round the roller 11, the tumbler 17 turns on its pivot and a wedge 151 of the member 15 contacts the roller 11 to stop rotation thereof. If the yarns are not wrapped round the roller at all they are nipped between the coils of a tension spring 19 positioned in the direct path of the yarns between guides 10 and 21.
