836,428. Sash locks. ATVIDABERGS BUTIKSINREDNINGAR A. B. Aug. 31, 1956 [Nov. 4, 1955], No. 26646/56. Class 44 A sash lock for coupled windows, comprises two lock portions 1, 14, the portion 1 carrying a displaceable plate 9 having a hole 15 which registers with a hole 12 in portion 1 in the unlatched position, the portion 14 having a stud 13 which is inserted in the registering holes 12, 15 and has a recess 16 engaged by plate 9 in the locked position, the plate 9 being moved by a lever 4 pivoted to the portion 1 and having a recess 11 in arm 4a engaging a projection 10 on plate 9. The end of plate 9 carrying projection 10 is bent toward arm 4a so that when the lever 4 is moved from the unlocked, Fig. 2, to the locked, Fig. 3, position, the plate resists the initial movement and aids the final movement; the axis of pin 8 by which the lever 4 is pivoted to lugs 2 of portion 1, is in a plane perpendicular to portion 1 and about mid-way between the end positions of projection 10.
