836,268. Spinning pots. HOLLANDSCHE KUNSTZIJDE INDUSTRIE. Dec. 9, 1957 [Dec. 28, 1956], No. 38263/57. Class 120(2) A spinning pot comprises a cap, which is held against the rim of a driving disc during rotation by means of an intermediate expansible ring, and a support for a spinning cake which extends inwardly from the ring and is integral with or carried by it. A flange 16 of the cap 11 engages a groove 13 of the ring 8, which has an extension 10, Fig. 2, or carries a disc 19, Fig. 3, to support the cake. The lower edge of the cap 11 and ring 8 expand under centrifugal force until the conical outer surface 7 of the ring 8 engages the rim 4 of the driving disc 3. When stationary, the cap 11 and ring 8 containing the cake may be freely removed. Liquid discharge openings are provided in the bottom edge of the cap 11, in the ring 8 and in the driving disc 3. The cap 11 may be made of unplasticised polyvinyl chloride, or of a polyester or phenol formaldehyde resin and reinforced with glass fibres.
