Abstract

The centrifuge, as described in Appln. 7018414, to which this is an addition, is modified to render a cover plate unnecessary by using a metal cone which presses on the annular base plate of the basket, the filter fabric lining being terminated at the inner rim of this base plate. The cone is used to lift the basket, by means of a circular tube attached by radial arms to its upper rim. To remove solids from liquid suspension. Basket is easily removed, without need for detaching a cover plate; and filtering of filter fabric is simplified.
