Abstract

733,664. Vacuum-jacketed vessels. THERMOS (1925), Ltd. Jan. 27, 1954 [Feb. 6, 1953], No. 3414/53. Class 64 (2). The glass vessel 2 of a vacuum flask is supported by a moulding of resilient material such as polyethylene, having a tubular portion 4 and radial extensions, such as two diametrically opposed flanges 6 or a single annular flange, for location of the moulding in the casing 1. The tubular portion 4 may extend below the flanges which may rest on a ledge in the casing 1. The internal bore of the portion 4 is tapered so that the wall is thinnest at the upper edge and it may be flared out upwardly. The Provisional Specification describes also a moulding made of rubber or synthetic rubber.
