Abstract

866,263. Vacuum-jacketed vessels. BRITISH VACUUM FLASK CO. Ltd., and HASSID, M. A. Aug. 1, 1957 [Sept. 26, 1956), No. 29374/56. Class 64(2) The shoulder 6 of a vacuum flask is formed of polyethylene with a lip 2 as shown. The top being flexible and of smaller diameter than the vacuumjacketed vessel grips the latter which may have an external flange abutted by fins on the shoulder. As shown the bottom is formed to engage the casing as described in Specification 866,264. Just above this bottom is a slightly tapered surface for engaging the mouth of a cup 5. Inside the cup and/or on the surface there may be a thread or interrupted thread 15 or one of the surfaces may be smooth. The external surface 11 of the lip 2 may have a projection, such as a rib for engaging in an inwardly directed recess in a stopper. The Provisional Specification describes also a shoulder with a top formed as shown in Fig. 2 (Provisional) and a bottom which engages a casing as described in Specification 789,884.
