A ceramic pouring vessel, e.g. a tea or coffee pot, having a loose-fitting lid is characterized by having, between parts of the lid and the pot which telescope when the lid is in position, an elastic annular member removably seated in a peripheral groove provided with slight elevations at points thereround and formed in the outer surface of the inner part so that at least parts of the elastic member bear on the inner surface of the other part. The elastic annular member e may be seated in a groove d on the outside of the lid c (Fig. 1) or in a groove d<SP>2</SP> in the outer wall of the vessel a (Fig. 5).
