In making a light alloy &c. teapot, kettle, coffee pot, water jug and the like, the flange 104, Fig. 3, of the spout-pressing 10 is provided with an outwardly directed abutment flange 105, Fig. 4, and an inwardly directed flange 106 which is passed through a slit 111, Fig. 6, in the body 11 of the teapot &c. and pressed outwardly to clamp the marginal portion of body 11 bounding slit 111 against flange 105. Flanges 105, 106 are formed by bending flange 104.
