Abstract

835,492. Draught excluders &c. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORPORATION. Dec. 13, 1957 [Dec. 26, 1956], No. 38779/57. Class 20(3) [Also in Groups XIII and XXXV] A gasket 14 for refrigerator cabinets &c. with magnets 15 therein to retain it on its seating has an elongated hollow body 17 of rubber plastic into the chamber 18 of which are placed magnets 15 secured together by a strip of flexible tape 28. Each magnet consists of ceramic-like magnetic material 26 bonded to a ferromagnetic backing strip 27. The corner joint of a mitred corner is devoid of magnets and is filled with fibre glass or similar compressed material 32. In a modification, Fig. 5, a magnetic belt employs the flexible tape 28 but uses magnetic bodies 35 of barium ferrite held together by a resinous binder and having no backing strips.
