Abstract

1,037,426. Permanent magnets. M. BAERMANN. July 12, 1963 [Sept. 8, 1962; Oct. 4, 1962], No. 27764/63. Heading H1P. [Also in Division E 1 ] A single- or double-channelled permanent strip magnet employed with a resilient sealing strip for sealing, e.g. refrigerators, is composed of a thermoplastics material or rubber incorporating a powdered permanent-magnetic material, e.g. a ferrite of barium, strontium or lead. The strip may have L- (as shown), or T-sectioned flanges, and may be magnetized with poles of alternate polarity running perpendicular to the strip axis (as shown), in which case the flanges 6 are made thick, or with the poles running parallel to the strip axis (Figs. 3, 5, not shown), in which case the web 7 is made thick. The strip is given a coating of a coloured, vulcanizable paint by spraying or dipping.
