Abstract

1451185 Permanent magnets M BAERMANN 6 March 1975 [7 March 1974] 9371/75 Heading H1P A flexible permanent magnet comprises a rubber-like flexible binder, a colouring, e.g. metallic powder, and a pulverulent highly coercive permanent magnet (e.g. barium, strontium, or lead ferrite) material admixed therewith; the magnet material being of coarse particles sized within the range 0À1 to 0À3 mm. with the proportion of fines reduced to negligible proportions. The metallic powder may be aluminium, and the magnet particles may be colour coated by dipping into a solution of metallic salts e.g. nickel, cadmium or copper, or by vacuum deposition of aluminium thereon. The rubber-like material may be e.g. sulpho chlorinated plasticized polyethylene calendered with the pulverulent material and extruded into profiles, strips or sheets.
