Class 97(3) [Also in Group XXIII] A fitting for a grooved graduated ruler comprises a loose member with a projection for engaging the outer groove and adapted to be tightened so as to lock the fitting on the ruler. As shown in Fig. 2 a graduated rule 11 has slidable thereon a trammal head 15 in which is loosely mounted a member 21 having a projection 20a engaging a groove in the rule 11. Member 21 may be pulled tight by a clamping nut 16a so as to lock the trammel head in any desired position on the rule. There may be two trammel heads slidable on the rule 11 so as to form a beam compass.
