Abstract

811,598. Set square protractors. PORTE, A. P. R. Oct. 29, 1956 [Nov. 8, 1955], No. 32937/56. Class 97(3) A set square-protractor comprising a set square and a parallel edged rule pivoted together has a protuberant element formed on a connecting member attached to the rule and spaced a fixed distance therefrom, the protuberant element being engageable for pushing in either direction by a finger of the hand which holds the set square so that pivoting of the rule relative to the set square may be remotely effected by the finger. As shown, a set square 1 has pivoted to it at 3 a rule 2 carrying a connecting element in the form of a protractor segment 5 having at its end remote from the rule a flange 10 for finger engagement. A stud 7 allows clamping of the protractor, and a vernier scale is provided at 11. Specification 754,960 is referred to.
