Abstract

A drawing compass comprises a holder for the drawing member 5 in the form of a slide 4 linearly slidable transversely of the point member 3 and adjusted by screw means operated by a rotatable member 13. Micrometer graduations are provided on the member 13 and an adjacent part of the body of the instrument. The slide 4 has a dovetail tongue engaging a corresponding groove in the body part 6 of the instrument, and is formed with square teeth 12 engaged by a two-start thread on the member 13. The point 3 may be spring- urged outwardly. The finger rod 7 and the member 13 may be made of nylon.
