Abstract

914,404. Compasses and dividers. BROADHURST, C. J. Aug. 9, 1961 [July 15, 1960], No. 24810/60. Class 97 (3). A compass having an apertured boss 11 on one arm accommodating a pencil 20, is provided with a divider attachment comprising a pin 16 on a plate 15 which can be turned about the axis of the boss 11 as centre into a position (a) where it is inoperative and the compass functions normally, (b) a position in line with the pencil where, since it extends beyond the pencil point the instrument functions as a divider, and (c) the position shown where the point 16 co-operates with point 19 to form dividers and may also be used with the pencil 20 as a compass.
