833,630. Reverse gear. COOPER, J. A. June 21, 1956 [June 29, 1955; April 28, 1956], Nos. 18760/55 and 13115/56. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXIX] An hydraulic clutch comprises pistons 24 reciprocated by an eccentric 18 on an input shaft 11 and working in radial cylinders 25 formed in a body 12, 13 fast with an intermediate output shaft 46 which can be clutched to an output shaft 52 for forward drive. The cylinders are interconnected by a duet 26 in which are valves 27 adjusted by pinions 30 meshing with a gear 31 controlled by an outputdriven governor 42. The piston-rods are journalled in a ring 20 mounted by means of a ball-bearing on the eccentric 18. Ring 20 is fast with an internally-toothed gear 43 which meshes with a gear 44 on a shaft 45. Shaft 45 can be clutched to the output shaft 52 to provide a reverse drive when the valves 27 are open and the body 12, 13 is held stationary.
