Class 120(3) A container 1 for tow is mounted on a turntable 2 which rotates in plane 5 inclined, preferably at 5 degrees, to the horizontal and the tow falls into the container 1 at a point away from the centre so that the unequal distribution of the weight of the tow causes the turntable 2 to rotate. The turntable 2 is mounted on a spindle 3 in a bearing 4. The tow may be fed by feed rollers or a current of air to the container 1 and the feed point may move according to a predetermined plan, for example in a small circle.
