Abstract

1,080,455. Sorting cylindrical articles. ZKL VYZKUMNY USTAV PRO VALIVA LOZISKA. Jan.28, 1965 [Feb.7, 1964], No. 3793/65. Heading G1M. In apparatus for feeding cylindrical articles 2 to a measuring device, the articles 2 are fed from a conveyer by a pivoted lever 5 into recesses 7 of a rotating disc 1. Each article 2 is then carried into a wedge-shaped groove 9 where it is measured for angularity and "run-out" of faces whilst being rotated in the groove by the moving disc. After the measuring operation, the articles are carried by collecting recesses 8 on the disc 1 to a sorting device where they fall through a flap 12 into an appropriate box 10 dependent on the transmitted test results.
