Abstract

831,800. Automatic regulation. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO. Ltd. Oct. 4, 1957 [Oct. 18, 1956], No. 31739/56. Class 38 (4). In a current stabilizer in which the load R is in series with a grounded collector transistor I and the base current is maintained constant, the base is supplied through a germanium or silicon diode D of a type which passes a substantially constant reverse current for a range of applied voltages. Two such circuits may be connected reversely in parallel, Fig. 4 (not shown), to stabilize an alternating current. In modifications, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown), the transistor I stabilizes the base current of a further transistor which is is in series with the load, and further cascaded stages may be added.
