830,664. Screening apparatus. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A.G. Nov. 20, 1956 [Nov. 22, 1955], No. 35461/56. Class 117 [Also in Group XXX] An oscillatory machine for conveying or screening loose material comprises a member 1, i.e. a trough or screen, and a countermass 2 interconnected by a crank drive and oscillatory rubber springs 9, 10. The countermass consists of an H-beam, and is supported on the ground by rubber' springs. Bars 7 are fixed to the side walls of the trough or screen and are held between the springs 9 and 10 which are gripped and prestressed between brackets 11 and 13 secured to flanges 16 and 17 of the countermass. Intermediate plates may be positioned between the springs 9 and 10 and the bar 7 to protect the springs from thermal and mechanical stress. The crank drive includes an electric motor 18 mounted on the countermass which, bymeans of a belt 23 and pulley 24, drives a crankshaft 19 mounted in self-aligning roller bearings in brackets 25, 26 fixed to the countermass. Connecting rods 20, 21 from the crankshaft drive the trough or screen through loose couplings, each of which comprises cylindrical rubber springs 28, 29 bounded by adjustable stops 30, 31 and a plate 32 fixed laterally to the trough or screen. The upper end of each rod passes through the springs 28, 29 and includes nuts 52, 53 by means of which the springs may be pre-stressed. In the case of a screening machine hoppers are arranged below and longitudinally of the screen which comprises a tray with longitudinally spaced screening sections, the intervening portions serving to convey the material.
