Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0830563/IV (b)/1> (wherein Y is a hydrogen atom or alkyl group, A is an aliphatic carbon chain which may be branched, R1 and R2 are alkyl groups or alkylene chains which may be branched and may be linked either with each other or with a carbon atom of chain A to form a five- or six-membered, nitrogen-containing ring, and R3 is an alkyl radical), and the preparation thereof by reducing the corresponding phenthiazines containing an acyl group in place of R3-CHOH-. The products may be converted into acid addition or quaternary ammonium salts. Specifications 808,049 and 830,012 are referred to.
