Abstract
829,967. Valves. SOC. DES APPAREILS REGULATEURS BREVETES. Sept. 19, 1957 [Sept. 22, 1956], No. 29511/57. Class 135. A valve assembly for a high - pressure gas container comprises a spring- loaded tubular push-rod 3 having a radial port 17 therein, slidable through a sealing ring valve seat 8 and secured in an axial bore of a valve member 5 which seats on the seat 8 under spring force and pressure of gas in the container 4. The valve is actuated through the push-rod by the action of coupling the gas container to an appliance and the gas overflow is via a lateral groove 13 in the push-rod and a capillary tube 12 also in the push-rod, both of which act to reduce the outlet pressure. The gas container can be readily recharged by fully depressing the push-rod so that port 17 communicates with the interior of the container. The degree of pressure reduction caused by the valve can be varied by altering the dimensions of the capillary tube.
