Abstract
829,067. Amphibious vehicles. MOTO GUZZI S.p.A. April 8, 1958 [Jan. 13, 1958], No. 11078/58. Classes 113 and 114. In an amphibious vehicle provided with three driving wheels 12, 13, 13, the leading wheel 12 is on the longitudinal central axis of the vehicle and serves for steering and transmitting a drive for propulsion both on land and in the water. In the embodiment of Fig. 2, the spokes 22 of the leading wheel are shaped as the blades of a screw propeller. The wheel may be turned through270degrees or more and is disposed transversely of the longitudinal axis of the vehicle when used for propulsion in the water. In another embodiment the screw propeller is detachably mounted on an extension of the hub of the leading wheel. Fig. 1a shows the screw propeller 4 mounted on a shaft 3 driven through bevel gearing 2 from the axle of the leading wheel.
