Abstract

Unwrought aluminium alloys, particularly for bearings have a composition, in per cent by weight, within the following range Sn 10.0-25.0; Cu 1.0-3.0; Pb 0.25-1.0, Al, with normal impurities up to 2.0, the balance. The alloy may also contain Ni 0.5-2.0. The alloy may be cast directly to the required shape of the bearing. The Provisional Specification describes also alloys in which the Sn content is 8.0-50.0 and in which one or more ingredients which cause dispersion of the Sn or Sn-rich phase are present in amount 0.25-15.0. Pb, Ni or Cu may also be present.
